The song You Belong With Me by Taylor swift is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE song that is basically about wanting someone who is with this girl who doesn't appreciate him at all. She likes this guy who she has for your whole life, and she knows him better than his girlfriend does but somehow the popular girl gets the guy every time. In the lyrics, she compares herself to the popular girl. "She wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts", "She's cheers captain and I'm on the bleachers" and "She wears high heels, I wear sneakers". This song also initiates that she wants him to be able to understand that his girlfriend is holding him back, but that if they were together, life would be perfect for both of them. In some ways she feels that she is not as good as his girlfriend. The girlfriend is pretty and popular, while she is not so much of a social butterfly. However, she does not doubt that the two of them belong together. It is so easy for the two of them to spend time together. They share the same interests and have so much history together that their relationship would be amazing because they are best friends in love. In the end, she changes her looks and decides to be confident in front of him. She brings all the attention towards her in prom, suggesting that she will also get the attention from the boy she likes next door. The boy and the girl have finally figured out that they both like each other.
