"Comfort women"

Here is the article from CNN.

For those of you who are not familiar with the word "comfort women", they were women and girls who were forced into sexual slavery during World War
II by the Imperial Japanese Army.

There is always been a tension between the Japanese and the Koreans over the years due to the Japanese Invasion to Korean Peninsula in 1900s. If you ask any Koreans about how they think of the Japanese in regard to history, I do not expect a nice word coming out from them. You may ask, why? Everything is over and it is just a part of the history. Well, yes, that is true. However, the Germans take Hitler and the Nazi Party as a shame in their history, but the Japanese government is still proud of themselves that they were the only nation in Asia that could stand against the Western Nations and the United States. The Germans have apologized many times to the Jews and they have made the "Berlin's Holocaust Memorial"in their capital city to tell the citizens and the tourists to be aware of the shameful history.

Korea suffered for many years as a Japanese colony, and I think the biggest victims were the "comfort women". After many protests and requests for an apology from the Japanese government, they have finally decided to give 1 billion yen ($8.3 million) to a fund to help those who suffered. Japanese Prime Minister, Shinze Abe,
expresses anew his most sincere apologies and remorse to all the women who underwent immeasurable and painful experiences and suffered incurable physical and psychological wounds as comfort women in the interview. But later stated himself, "I think we did our duty for the current generation by reaching this final and irreversible resolution before the end of the 70th year since the war" (CNN). To me, this just sounds like, "We gave you guys money, so don't bring up anything ever again". How can I just let go of this disgrace as a Korean for money?
