This summer, in the NBA, the most disappointing thing since Lebron James leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers in '10 occurred, the reason Lebron leaving was such a big deal to the basketball world was because he was the face of his program, and that face was leaving. For that face to leave his team because his current team did not have the ability to win in the playoffs, it caused an uproar worldwide among fans and basketball commentators and people alike. Lebron haters claimed that he was not good enough to win with what he had and had to join the Miami Heat in order to get his championship. Now for another great basketball player who continuously was at the top of the scoring averages to do the same thing six years later to the same team that beat them in the playoffs, it feels completely unacceptable. Kevin Durant, the star player on the Oklahoma City Thunder, was on a team that was fully capable of winning a championship, however they failed to several times. It makes perfect sense for players who wish for bigger and better goals to move on and leave their teams, but to join the team that went 73-9 in the regular season, that is just absurd. The prior year, the Golden State Warriors won the NBA championships and nearly won it the year after that. If one were to be without any basketball knowledge but were to know this, even they could come to realization that a team that out of 82 games only loses 9 times, does not need another star player, one who was regarded as the MVP in the 2013-2014 season. For something like that to be allowed to happen, it made many people lose respect for the NBA and the 6’9” small forward as people burned his jerseys and various merchandise similar to when Lebron left the Cavaliers.http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/16759826/kevin-durant-announces-sign-golden-state-warriors
