Extinction Can Wait

According to a new study conducted by the World Wildlife Fund, (WWF), the lovable and adorable giant panda has been upgraded from the endangered list to the vulnerable list.  The numbers have increased significantly from 1, 600 wild pandas in 2003, to 1,850 in 2014.  What does this mean for us humans?  Well, we can now go see these adorable creatures in their natural habitat, where they can roam around freely.  This increase in pandas has been a result of the decrease in poaching, and the increase of their habitat.  Now, that the pandas are no longer endangered, we as the human race can focus on other animals that are endangered.  The great apes of the Congo are diminishing with poaching and zoos in Cincinnati are not helping, (RIP Harambe).  So in order to raise awareness we as college students can promote the status of the great ape along with various other animals from the African zebra to the elephant.  We can save these animals from extinction and return Earth to a world with humans and an abundance of wildlife, coexisting.
