The Republican nominee has finally released his tax returns.
It feels like everyone has been waiting for this and now the time is here. That’s
right Republican Vice Presidential nominee, Mike Pence has just released 10
years of his tax returns. Now if you thought I meant Trump, let’s be honest about
something. Donald J. Trump will not be releasing his tax returns anytime soon,
despite the tradition for a president nominee to do so.
Though we’ll get more into that later and focus on Mike
Pence tax returns. Pence tax returns show that he paid a tax rate of 12.4
percent and gave about $9,000 to charity. The total family income, for Pence
has been around $110,00 to $188,000. The exact gross adjusted income for Pence
last year was $113,026. People who are experts in tax and business services
like Joe Perry believe Pence’s taxes to show “a return that an average family
would file.”
Based on all this information it’s fair to say that Pence’s
tax return is reasonable and not unusually. However, what’s really unusually is
that Trump hasn’t released any of his returns yet. Many people ranging from critics
to Hillary Clinton have commented that Trump should release his returns. Trump’s
response has been that he would release his tax returns after completion of an
IRS audit. Also Trump added this week that he would release all his tax returns
if Hillary Clinton releases her emails deleted on her private server. Though in
actuality Trump won’t release anything until he absolute needs to.
